AdEspresso Alternatives in 2026 (Including What Replaced It for Small Teams)

By the AdFlint research team · We built trial accounts on Birch (formerly Revealbot) and worked inside them ourselves; every screenshot below is from those sessions, and the rest is documentation and verified user reviews · Published July 28, 2026 · Updated July 30, 2026

TL;DR

  • AdEspresso is still alive as of July 2026 (Starter $49/mo with a $1,000/mo ad spend cap), but it manages Facebook and Instagram only, and its split-testing workflow predates Meta's Advantage+ era.
  • For a small team that wants the ads written, launched, and optimized for them across both Google and Meta, AdFlint (our product, disclosed below) starts at $10/mo, keeps a human approval on every ad, and takes 0% of your spend.
  • For a Meta-only team that wants to keep doing the work themselves with modern AI on top, Madgicx is the closest like-for-like replacement; Birch (formerly Revealbot) is the pick for rules-based automation across Meta, Google, TikTok, and Snapchat.
  • If you have zero software budget, Meta Ads Manager with Advantage+ now covers most of what AdEspresso charged for; Smartly.io is the enterprise option, and Optmyzr fits accounts that lean toward Google and Microsoft search.

First, what you are actually replacing. AdEspresso was the small-team Facebook ads tool of the 2015-2020 era: create a campaign once, split test dozens of variations, and read the results in a friendlier interface than Ads Manager. It is still selling subscriptions today - we checked the live pricing page in July 2026 and found three plans, from a $49/mo Starter capped at $1,000 in monthly ad spend to Enterprise from $259/mo. But the product manages Facebook and Instagram only, third-party listings still carry the old 'AdEspresso by Hootsuite' name while the site's own footer now reads 'AdEspresso LLC', and its own guides library has not been refreshed in years - the newest entry on adespresso.com/guides is 'The Beginner's Guide to Facebook Advertising', dated May 19, 2021, before Meta folded most of that manual split-testing work into Advantage+.

That last part is why 'AdEspresso alternatives' is a more interesting question than it looks. You are not just shopping for a nicer campaign editor. Meta's own automation absorbed much of AdEspresso's original job, so the real 2026 choices split by working style: a done-for-you AI that runs Google and Meta with you approving each ad (AdFlint), a Meta-focused AI copilot you still drive yourself (Madgicx), an automation-rules engine across four ad platforms (Birch, the tool formerly known as Revealbot), the free native option (Meta Ads Manager plus Advantage+), an enterprise creative-and-buying platform (Smartly.io), and a search-side optimizer if your budget actually leans Google (Optmyzr).

One disclosure up front: AdFlint is our product, and it is marked as such below. We have ranked it where we believe it honestly belongs for this page's audience - small teams - and we tell you plainly when a competitor is the better fit, including the case where the like-for-like AdEspresso replacement is Madgicx, not us. Every price on this page comes from the vendor's own live pages fetched in July 2026 - and where a vendor publishes no price, we say that instead of estimating one. Every review quote is verbatim from a public review platform, with a link to the page it came from.

We got inside. Here is every screen.

We created real trial accounts, cleared the verification walls, and worked through the products. Every screenshot below is from those sessions — no vendor marketing imagery, no stock dashboards.

Birch (formerly Revealbot)

Walkthrough performed July 30, 2026

Revealbot rebranded to Birch and moved to bir.ch. A lot of published roundups still send readers to revealbot.com, and the old /signup path 404s — the working signup is at app.bir.ch/signup.

We created an account, completed onboarding and worked through the product. The headline finding: Birch in 2026 is three products, not one. The automation tool everyone reviews is now sitting alongside a bulk creative launcher and a server-side tracking gateway, and it is priced against your ad spend.

  1. 01

    Create the account

Email, a password of six or more characters, and your name — or one-click signup with Google. The page states a 14-day free trial, no credit card required, cancel anytime. A newsletter checkbox is present and unticked. No card was requested at any point, and no phone number either. Account creation to the connect screen took under two minutes.

  2. 02

Set up the company and declare your budget

Step two asks for company name, industry, monthly ad budget, and how you heard about them. Industry options are Agency, Services, Ecommerce, Mobile App, Lead Generation, and Other. The budget brackets run Below $10K, $10K-$30K, $30K-$75K, $75K-$150K, $150K-$300K, $300K-$500K, and Over $500K. As with Optmyzr, everything under ten thousand dollars a month is one undifferentiated bucket at the bottom — and it turns out that bracket is not just a survey question, it is the pricing.

Step two of Birch's onboarding, captured during our own signup on 30 July 2026.
  3. 03

Connect an ad platform — or don't, and see what breaks

Step three asks you to connect Meta Ads, TikTok, Google Ads, or Snapchat before you reach the product. Meta is presented first and most prominently, matching Birch's heritage. We skipped it deliberately, to find out how much of the product survives without granting a third party access to a live ad account. The answer is: the shell, but not the substance.

  4. 04

Open the Rules engine — the feature it is famous for

The automation screen is the reason most people arrive at Birch. Without a connected account it is a single button reading Connect ad account, over an illustration of the three action types it offers — increase bid, duplicate, notify. That is the entire surface available to an unconnected trial. There is no sandbox and no demo dataset, so you cannot evaluate the rule builder against sample data before handing over access to real campaigns.

Find Stage, the product nobody has reviewed

Stage is a bulk creative launcher: you connect a planning Google Sheet and your Drive folders, and it builds the ads from there — launching creative tests from the sheet, mirroring your Drive folder structure into ad structure, duplicating winning setups with new creative swapped in, and working across multiple Drives and platforms at once. It targets Meta, TikTok and Snapchat. Birch states plainly that its Drive access is read-only and it cannot edit or delete anything. We could not find a single published roundup that mentions this exists.

  6. 06

Find Hub, which is not an ads tool at all

Hub is server-side tracking infrastructure. You create a Signals Gateway, pick a hosting region, point it at your primary website, and it collects first-party data and forwards it to the ad platforms — the category occupied by conversions-API and server-side GTM setups. A company that used to sell Facebook rule automation now also sells you the tracking layer underneath it. That is a strategic move worth understanding before you compare Birch to anything on price alone.

    Read the integration list

Birch connects twelve services: Meta Ads, Google Ads & Google Drive, Snapchat Ads, TikTok Ads, YouTube, Google Analytics, Google Sheets, Slack, and — telling for who it is built for — the attribution stack of AppsFlyer, Adjust (in beta), Hyros and Wicked Reports. There is no Microsoft Ads, no Amazon and no LinkedIn. Set that against Optmyzr's Amazon, Microsoft, LinkedIn and Search Ads 360 and the two products stop looking like competitors at all: Optmyzr is built for search, Birch is built for paid social and direct-to-consumer attribution.

Read the real price off the billing screen

Birch does not have a flat price. The billing screen tracks cumulative spend across your connected accounts and charges you against it, with a slider that recalculates every plan as you move up the spend ladder. We walked the whole slider and wrote down every number. Two things matter more than the prices themselves: automated rules — the feature Revealbot was known for — are not in the entry plan at all, and above roughly $150K in monthly spend the entry plan stops being offered.

What the signup told us

  • Genuinely fast: account creation to the connect screen took under two minutes, with no phone number and no credit card.
  • The rebrand is badly signposted. Arriving from an older article pointing at revealbot.com or bir.ch/signup gets you a 404 before you find the app.
  • No sandbox and no demo data. The rule builder — the main reason to evaluate Birch — is completely inaccessible until you grant access to a live ad account.
  • Pricing is tied to your ad spend, not to seats or usage of the tool, so your bill grows as your campaigns do even if your use of Birch never changes.
  • The entry plan excludes automation entirely, which makes the widely quoted 'from $49' figure misleading for anyone arriving for the rules engine.
  • Meta is the default and most prominent option; Google Ads is present but visually secondary. Treat this as a Meta-first tool that also does Google.
  • One URL we tried inside the app hung on a loading spinner indefinitely rather than resolving or erroring.

Pricing, read off the in-app billing screen

Every figure below was read directly off Birch's own in-app billing slider on 30 July 2026, at each spend tier in turn. Monthly prices are the headline rate; annual prices are the discounted equivalent, billed once a year.

Your monthly ad spendEssentialProAnnual (Essential / Pro)
Up to $10K$49/mo$99/mo$540 / $1,090
Up to $30K$149/mo$249/mo$1,640 / $2,740
Up to $75K$299/mo$499/mo$3,290 / $5,490
Up to $150K$499/mo$799/mo$5,490 / $8,790
Up to $300KNot offered$1,299/mo— / $14,290
$500K+Not offeredNot offeredEnterprise, custom quote
  • Essential does not include automated rules. This is the single most important line on the page: the feature Revealbot built its reputation on sits behind the Pro tier. Essential buys you workspaces, post boosting, reports, an activity page, Slack and email support — and nothing that automates a campaign.
  • Pro adds automated rules and strategies, Explorer, top audiences, Launcher, Stage, custom metrics and timeframes, the custom and lookalike audience builder, the Sheets/AppsFlyer/Hyros integrations, and live chat support.
  • Price is set by total monthly ad budget across every ad account you connect. If your spend rises past your tier, Birch states you are charged an overage fee through Stripe and notified by email; your features keep working.
  • Annual billing is described as twelve months for the price of eleven.
  • The trial is 14 days with full feature access. When it expires, your rules and reports are disabled rather than deleted, and come back when you pick a plan.

Where this stops: We did not connect a live Meta or Google account, so we have not watched a Birch rule evaluate or fire against real campaigns, and we have not seen Explorer, Stage or Hub populated with real data. Everything above is what the product does and costs, verified in-app; how well its automation actually performs on live spend is not something this walkthrough can tell you.

01

AdFlint

Best for small teams that want the ads run for themOur product — disclosure

AdFlint is our product, so read this entry with that disclosure in mind. It answers the part of the AdEspresso question most tools ignore: what if you do not want a better dashboard, you want the work done? AdFlint's AI writes, launches, and optimizes campaigns on both Google and Meta inside your own ad account - you keep the account, the data, and the billing relationship with the platforms. Nothing goes live without your approval: challenger ads are staged and wait for a human yes, and spend runs against a hard monthly cap the autopilot paces to.

The pricing model is the other deliberate difference. Plans are flat - Starter at $10/mo for up to $100 in monthly ad spend, Launch at $40/mo for up to $1,000, Growth at $89/mo for up to $2,500, and a custom Managed tier where AdFlint runs Google and Meta end to end to your goal - and AdFlint never takes a percentage of your spend. Compare Launch to AdEspresso's $49/mo Starter, which caps at that same $1,000 of monthly ad spend: at the budget band where the two plans overlap, the done-for-you option costs less than the do-it-yourself one.

Where we would honestly point you elsewhere: if you are a hands-on media buyer who wants to build audiences, run structured split tests, and read raw breakdowns yourself, that is Madgicx's or Birch's territory, not ours. AdFlint is also a newer product without the decade of public reviews some tools here have, which is why this entry carries no review quote - the same rule we applied to everyone else.

AdFlint homepage showing the autopilot activity log and the live first-ad builder demo
AdFlint, shown from our own public homepage: the autopilot activity log and the live first-ad builder. This is our product.

Pros

  • + AI writes, launches, and optimizes Google and Meta campaigns for you, inside your own ad account
  • + Human approval required on every ad before it goes live
  • + Hard monthly budget caps with pacing, and 0% markup on ad spend
  • + Flat pricing with no percentage of spend: $40/mo Launch covers the same $1,000 monthly ad spend AdEspresso's $49 Starter caps at
  • + 7-day free trial on monthly plans; annual plans include 2 months free

Cons

  • Newer product with no large public review base yet
  • Not built for hands-on media buyers who want manual audience and split-test control
  • Google and Meta only - no TikTok, Snapchat, or LinkedIn management
  • Card required to start the trial

Ideal for

  • Small businesses with no in-house ads person
  • Teams leaving AdEspresso who realized they never enjoyed the manual work

Madgicx

Best like-for-like AdEspresso replacement for Meta-only teams

If what you liked about AdEspresso was staying hands-on with Meta - building audiences, testing creative, reading the account yourself - Madgicx is the closest modern equivalent. It describes itself as an agentic Meta ads platform: an AI Marketer that audits your account and recommends next steps, an AI ad-creative module with automated launch, a creative performance tracker, and an analytics layer that reads your Ads Manager data. It is squarely aimed at the same DIY advertiser AdEspresso served, updated for the Advantage+ era.

The catch is pricing transparency and scope. Madgicx publishes no plan price at all: the pricing page reads 'See price inside the app' and asks for your monthly ad-spend band first (the selector runs from 'Less than $1K' to '$30K+'). A stale homepage banner still offers 'accurate data analysis for $29/mo forever', but that figure is scoped to analytics rather than to the platform, so treat it as a floor for one module, not an entry price for the product. The Tracking Pro attribution add-on is a further $49/mo per connected account. Campaign management is Meta-only - Madgicx ships a Shopify app and reads outside data sources, but you are not launching Google, TikTok, or Snapchat campaigns from it.

Public reviews skew positive on the software itself - the Shopify App Store listing sits at 4.0 from a small base of 13 reviews - but the sharpest criticism there targets the paid human services layered on top: one 2024 one-star reviewer wrote that the media buyers provided 'did not show any progress' and that promised weekly reports never came. Treat the software and the managed add-on services as separate purchase decisions.

Madgicx public homepage showing its AI ads manager product interface
Madgicx's public site as we captured it in July 2026 while researching this page - the product UI shown is Madgicx's own demo imagery.

Pros

  • + Most direct successor to AdEspresso's hands-on Meta workflow, rebuilt around AI auditing and creative automation
  • + The AI Marketer audits the connected account and names specific next actions rather than only reporting numbers
  • + Creative generation, launch automation, and analytics in one Meta-focused stack
  • + 7-day free trial with live chat support and free training

Cons

  • No plan price is published anywhere - you pick an ad-spend band and only see the figure inside the app
  • Meta-only campaign management - no Google, TikTok, or Snapchat launching
  • Tracking Pro attribution costs an extra $49/mo per account
  • Public reviewers report poor experiences with the optional managed media-buyer services

Ideal for

  • Meta-only advertisers who want to stay hands-on
  • Ecommerce and DTC teams on Shopify
  • Former AdEspresso users who mainly used it for testing and optimization

Pricing: No published plan price: the live pricing page shows 'See price inside the app' and asks for a monthly ad-spend band first (from 'Less than $1K' to '$30K+'). A homepage banner advertises 'accurate data analysis for $29/mo forever', which covers analytics only. Tracking Pro add-on $49/mo per connected account. 7-day free trial with free training and live chat support. Checked on the live pricing page, July 2026.

It has greatly simplified the management of my Facebook ad accounts, providing me with clear insights and useful suggestions through its AI marketer tools.

Birch (formerly Revealbot)

Best for rules-based automation across multiple platforms

Searching for Revealbot in 2026 lands you somewhere unexpected: revealbot.com now redirects permanently to bir.ch, because the product rebranded to Birch. Under the new name it remains what Revealbot always was - the strongest automation-rules engine in this price class. You define conditions (pause when CPA exceeds X over 3 days, scale budget when ROAS holds above Y, restart winners at a set hour) and Birch executes them on a schedule across Meta, Google, TikTok, and Snapchat. It also covers bulk campaign launching, custom reporting, and Slack alerts.

Pricing starts at $49/mo for Essential and $99/mo for Pro at the base tier, which covers up to $10K in monthly ad spend across connected accounts; the bill scales up with spend from there, and Enterprise is custom. Automated rules - the actual reason to buy Birch - sit in the Pro tier, so budget for $99/mo, not $49. The 14-day trial requires no card, which is friendlier than most tools on this page.

The honest caveat: a rules engine automates your judgment, it does not supply judgment. You need to know what a bad CPA looks like for your account, and how long to wait before acting on it, or you will simply automate mistakes faster. That makes Birch a power tool for practitioners rather than a replacement for knowing PPC - the opposite trade from a done-for-you service.

Birch (formerly Revealbot) public homepage showing its automated performance marketing positioning
Birch (formerly Revealbot) - its public site as we captured it in July 2026 while researching this page.

Pros

  • + Deep, flexible automated rules with scheduling, custom metrics, and multi-condition logic
  • + Covers Meta, Google, TikTok, and Snapchat from one rules engine
  • + 14-day free trial with no card required
  • + Slack, Google Sheets, AppsFlyer, and Hyros integrations for reporting and attribution

Cons

  • Rules require real PPC judgment to configure safely - it will automate bad decisions as efficiently as good ones
  • Automated rules live in the $99/mo Pro tier, not the $49 Essential plan
  • Cost is tied to the ad spend in your connected accounts, so the bill grows as the accounts do
  • No creative generation - it optimizes what you already built

Ideal for

  • Hands-on media buyers and small agencies
  • Teams running Meta plus TikTok or Snapchat who want one automation layer
  • Former AdEspresso users who mainly used automatic optimization triggers

Pricing: Essential from $49/mo and Pro from $99/mo at the base tier (up to $10K/mo connected ad spend), scaling with spend; Enterprise custom. 14-day free trial, no card required. Pricing checked on the live pricing page (bir.ch), July 2026.

Easy to use and set up custom reports for ad accounts and other details that's important to constantly monitor.

Meta Ads Manager (native)

Best free option if you only want to pay for media

The uncomfortable truth behind every AdEspresso alternatives list: Meta's free native tooling absorbed a large share of what AdEspresso charged for. Advantage+ campaigns automate audience targeting, placements, budget distribution, and creative combinations; dynamic creative testing replaced much of the manual variation grid AdEspresso was famous for; and the mobile apps handle edits, budgets, and lead follow-up. If your entire operation is Facebook and Instagram and your constraint is software budget, the honest first move is Ads Manager plus Advantage+, not a subscription.

The costs are indirect. The interface remains genuinely hostile to occasional users - error states are cryptic, settings move, and Meta's advertiser support is notoriously thin when something breaks or an account gets flagged. Reporting is single-platform by design, so the moment you add Google to the mix you are juggling two dashboards with two definitions of a conversion. And Advantage+ is a black box: it optimizes toward Meta's objectives with limited visibility into why, which is exactly the gap the paid tools on this page sell against.

Our view: run native until the hours it consumes or the mistakes it invites cost more than a tool. For many one-person operations that point arrives quickly; for others it never does.

Pros

  • + Free - your entire budget goes to media
  • + Advantage+ now automates targeting, placements, and creative combinations natively
  • + First to receive every new Meta ad format and feature
  • + Official mobile apps for edits, budgets, and lead management

Cons

  • Interface and error handling are consistently confusing for non-specialists
  • Effectively no accessible human support for small advertisers
  • Single-platform by design - no Google view, no cross-channel reporting
  • Advantage+ automation is a black box with limited explanation of its decisions

Ideal for

  • Advertisers with no software budget at all
  • Meta-only businesses comfortable learning the native interface
  • Anyone validating ads for the first time before buying tooling

Pricing: Free to use; you pay only for the ads themselves. Meta's official Ads Manager page (checked July 2026) confirms the desktop tool and the iOS/Android Ads Manager apps carry no software fee, and Advantage+ campaigns are a native campaign type inside Ads Manager rather than a paid add-on.

Sometimes errors will pop up due to little mistakes like missing info or something, and when you're looking for the place to insert the missing info, it's nowhere to be found.

Smartly.io

Best for enterprise brands and agencies

Smartly.io shows up in nearly every AdEspresso alternatives list, and for most people reading this page it is the wrong answer - not because it is weak, but because it is aimed several weight classes up. Smartly unifies creative production, media buying, and optimization across social platforms, connected TV (200+ streaming services), and the open web, with AI bridging creative and media teams. Its case studies are Foot Locker and The Times, and its site segments buyers into agencies, performance teams, brand teams, and creative teams. That is the vocabulary of enterprise marketing organizations, not five-person companies.

There is no public pricing anywhere on the site - every path ends at 'Get a Demo' or 'Talk to Smartly', which in practice means a sales cycle and a negotiated contract. We could not verify any specific minimum or fee structure from the live site this session, and we are not going to repeat unverified numbers from other blogs. The absence of a self-serve tier is itself the signal: if a demo-led enterprise sales process does not match how you buy software, you are not the customer.

Include Smartly on your shortlist if you are an agency or brand team coordinating creative variation at scale across social and CTV, with the budget conversation to match. Skip it if you came to this page from a $49/mo AdEspresso plan.

Pros

  • + Combines creative automation, media buying, and optimization in one enterprise platform
  • + Unusually broad channel coverage: social platforms plus connected TV and open web
  • + Built for cross-team workflows between creative and media
  • + Enterprise case studies with named brands (Foot Locker, The Times)

Cons

  • No public pricing at all - demo-led, quote-based sales only
  • Enterprise positioning; not designed or priced for small teams
  • Overkill if your problem is running Meta and Google well on a small budget

Ideal for

  • Agencies managing many large accounts
  • Enterprise brand and performance teams
  • Advertisers expanding into connected TV alongside social

Pricing: No public pricing; quote-based via a demo call. The live site (checked July 2026) publishes no plan names, figures, or minimums, and directs all buyers to 'Get a Demo'.

Optmyzr

Best if your budget leans Google and Microsoft search

Optmyzr is the odd one out on this list, deliberately. AdEspresso was a social ads tool, but many teams searching for its replacement are really reassessing their whole paid mix - and if most of your budget actually flows through Google or Microsoft search, a PPC optimization suite serves you better than another Meta dashboard. Optmyzr is one of the most respected tools in that category: one-click optimizations, scripts, budget pacing, and rule-based automations across Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, and Amazon Ads, with Meta and LinkedIn tools included in every plan at no extra cost.

Pricing is where small teams should look closely. Optmyzr sells Essentials, Premium, and Enterprise tiers priced by monthly ad spend, but the live pricing page displays exact figures only after you pick a spend tier - and the tier selector starts at $25K/mo and runs to $500K+, which tells you who the product is really built for. The figures that are published: annual billing saves 30%, the standalone Campaign Automator starts at $249/mo, Optmyzr for Amazon Ads starts at $66/mo, and the 14-day trial needs no card.

It is also an optimizer, not a creator: Optmyzr assumes campaigns exist and makes them better. If you need something to write and launch ads from scratch on Meta, this is not that tool - pair it with native Meta tooling, or pick a different primary from this list.

Optmyzr public homepage describing PPC account management automation for Google and Microsoft Ads
Optmyzr's public site as we captured it in July 2026 while researching this page.

Pros

  • + Deep, mature optimization toolkit for Google and Microsoft search accounts
  • + Meta and LinkedIn tools included in every plan at no extra cost
  • + 14-day free trial with no card, plus a 30-day money-back guarantee for first-time subscribers
  • + Annual billing saves 30%

Cons

  • Core plan prices are not displayed publicly - figures appear only after selecting an ad-spend tier
  • Spend-tier selector starts at $25K/mo, signaling a mid-market and agency focus rather than small budgets
  • Optimization-first: it improves existing campaigns rather than creating and launching social ads
  • Meta tooling is a complement to its search core, not the main event

Ideal for

  • Teams whose spend leans Google or Microsoft search
  • PPC specialists and agencies managing multiple search accounts
  • Advertisers who want scripts and one-click optimizations without building them

Pricing: Essentials, Premium, and Enterprise tiers priced by monthly ad spend; exact figures display only after selecting a spend tier (tiers listed from $25K to $500K+/mo) on the live pricing page. How we chose.

We did not run paid campaigns through each of these tools to write this page, and nothing below pretends otherwise. What we did do: fetch every vendor's live pricing page in July 2026 and record plan names and figures exactly as published; read each product's official documentation and product pages to describe what it actually does; and pull verbatim quotes from public review platforms - the Shopify App Store for Madgicx, SourceForge for Birch/Revealbot, and the Apple App Store for Meta Ads Manager - each linked to the exact page we fetched.

Where a review platform blocked access during research (G2, Trustpilot, Capterra, and TrustRadius all returned errors this session), we omitted the quote rather than paraphrasing one from memory. That is why Smartly.io and Optmyzr appear without review quotes: we could not fetch a real one, so there is not one. Three tools also do not publish full pricing (Smartly.io is quote-only; Optmyzr and Madgicx show final figures only after you pick a spend tier), and we say so instead of guessing.

The one product we know from the inside is our own. AdFlint's entry is written by the team that builds it and carries a visible disclosure tag, and its pricing was checked against the same live pricing page a customer sees. We have not run campaigns through the five competing tools on this page, including Meta Ads Manager, so every description of what they do is drawn from their own documentation and from public reviews - never from a test we did not run.

  • Fit for AdEspresso's actual audience: small teams and small budgets running Meta-centric campaigns, not enterprise media desks.
  • Live, verifiable pricing: every figure comes from the vendor's pricing page fetched in July 2026, and tools that hide pricing behind a demo call or in-app quote are flagged for it.
  • Platform coverage beyond Meta, because most small-business budgets in 2026 split between Meta and Google rather than living on one platform.
  • Honest automation depth: we map each tool on the spectrum from free native automation to rules engines to full done-for-you, instead of calling everything 'AI-powered'.
  • Real drawbacks sourced from public reviews and documented product limits, not softened marketing cons.
  • Signs of life: whether the product has visibly kept pace with the Advantage+ era or is coasting on a pre-2022 feature set.

Common questions.

Is AdEspresso shutting down?

Not as of July 2026. The site is live, sells three plans (Starter $49/mo, Plus $99/mo, Enterprise from $259/mo), and offers a 14-day trial. That said, it manages Facebook and Instagram only, third-party listings still carry the old 'AdEspresso by Hootsuite' name while its own footer now reads 'AdEspresso LLC', and its published guides stop in 2021 - well before Meta's Advantage+ consolidation. That gap, not a shutdown notice, is why so many teams are evaluating replacements.

What happened to Revealbot?

Revealbot rebranded to Birch. The old domain, revealbot.com, now permanently redirects to bir.ch. The product itself continues as before: automated rules, reporting, and bulk campaign management across Meta, Google, TikTok, and Snapchat, with pricing from $49/mo and rules in the $99/mo Pro tier.

Is there a free alternative to AdEspresso?

Yes - Meta Ads Manager itself. Advantage+ campaigns now automate targeting, placements, and creative combinations natively, covering much of what AdEspresso originally charged for. The trade-offs are a confusing interface, effectively no human support for small advertisers, and no cross-platform view once you add Google to your mix.

Does AdEspresso support Google Ads?

No. AdEspresso creates and analyzes Facebook and Instagram campaigns only. If your budget is split between Meta and Google - which is typical for small businesses in 2026 - you need either two tools or a cross-platform option like AdFlint (Google + Meta) or Birch (Meta, Google, TikTok, Snapchat).

What is the cheapest paid AdEspresso alternative?

By published entry price, AdFlint's Starter plan at $10/mo is the cheapest, though that tier covers only $100 of monthly ad spend; AdFlint's Launch plan at $40/mo is the closest like-for-like to AdEspresso's $49/mo Starter, since both cap at $1,000 of monthly ad spend. Birch is next at $49/mo, but its automated rules sit in the $99/mo Pro tier. Madgicx does not publish a plan price at all - you pick an ad-spend band and the figure appears inside the app - so it cannot be ranked on price from the outside.

Do I still need a split-testing tool now that Advantage+ exists?

Mostly no, in the way AdEspresso meant it. Meta's dynamic creative and Advantage+ automation now handle variation testing internally, so manually building large A/B grids is rarely worth it. What still matters is disciplined creative iteration, honest measurement, and guardrails on spend - which is why the modern alternatives compete on automation, attribution, and oversight rather than on test grids.
