Non-Skippable In-Stream Ads
By the AdFlint research team · Last reviewed July 2026
YouTube in-stream video ads, typically capped around fifteen seconds, that viewers must watch in full, bought on an impression basis.
With no skip button the whole message is guaranteed to be delivered, which suits reach and awareness buys with a fixed creative length, and you pay CPM rather than per view. The misunderstanding is that guaranteed exposure means guaranteed attention: forced ads draw more irritation and less recall when the creative is dull, and the format is a poor fit for direct response.
