Sponsored messages that appear in the Promotions and Social tabs of a Gmail inbox, expanding into a larger creative when clicked.
Once a standalone campaign type, this inventory is now bought only as a placement inside Demand Gen and Display campaigns rather than targeted directly. The unit historically charged on the first expand, so click counts overstate real intent. The common misreading is treating an expansion as engagement; what matters is the action taken after the creative opens, not the open itself.
