Native Advertising

By the AdFlint research team · Last reviewed July 2026

Paid placements styled to match the surrounding editorial content, labeled as sponsored, and sold through discovery networks or directly by publishers.

Ads that adopt the format and feel of the content around them, such as recommended-article widgets, sponsored posts, and in-feed units, while carrying the required disclosure. It suits top-of-funnel storytelling and content promotion where a banner would be ignored. The mistake is deceptive framing: units that obscure sponsorship attract regulatory attention and draw traffic that leaves once readers realize it is an ad.
