Small text-and-thumbnail units in the LinkedIn right rail or top bar, sold on clicks or impressions, and shown only on desktop.

They sit outside the feed, so they typically cost less per click than sponsored content, but they earn far less attention and never appear on mobile. Advertisers use them as cheap always-on reinforcement against a defined company or title list, not as a primary channel. The mistake is judging them on last-click conversions, since the format's value is inexpensive presence rather than direct response.
