CPE

By the AdFlint research team · Last reviewed July 2026

Ad spend divided by engagements such as reactions, comments, shares, clicks, or expansions, giving the average cost of one recorded interaction.

It collapses very different actions into one denominator, so it prices any response rather than a meaningful one. A share and an accidental image tap can count identically. The usual misreading is treating a low figure as audience affinity; cheap engagement tends to come from placements where people scroll and tap loosely, and it rarely predicts conversion behavior later.
